There was no way I was going to not spot this one

It had been 8 days and still no herps. A guy who is driven by the urge to find herps in me was going crazy by now. With the bone-chilling cold of Nagaland, it was obvious why there were no herps around me. Yet I was stubborn enough to look for them. Luckily I had a partner on field driven by the same craziness- Yatish. Then, on the 9th night, I andYatish Lele decided to go for yet another trail to find some reptiles and amphibians. 3 Hours counting and nothing. Our trail route was about to get over. We by now were ascending back to the village from the Community Conserved Area that the Village had notified under the guidance of TERI. As the village lights became brighter our hopes of finding herps decreased. Then as Yatish's flash moved on a fern, I saw this. Finally relief to my eyes, a Jerdon's Forest Calotes. A lifer (a wildlife term I yet fail to understand and was introduced to on Facebook) to me. This just set the tone for our last 2 days. Many more sightings followed...
