The Indian Black Widow

She crawls slyly under the dark, flaunting her charcoal black beauty. Slowly she leans on to the soul of the weak. It is these that she thrives on. She is quick to strike her prey. But it does take time for the dark venom to act. The victim often stays still, lying down, as the light in it's eye fades. The worst is to follow... The victim knows it is too late. Now all it can do is watch her play with it and slowly die...

Latrodectus hasseltii also called as the Redback Spider is a highly venomous, less known spider from Indian landscape.
